August 2002
Dear Friends, Just a note on the projects for this month.
We are having a TexMex dinner the 6th, for those who memorized the Bible
verses this summer in our church. Jacky and Laetitia visited last
Sunday and they were unhappy to have to miss it. They return to
work in a camp this week, and the 9(?) the Bible Institute starts up
again for them.
We are planning to start again the survey work
in our valley this month, I have to redo the survey itself and I plan to
make up a tract introducing our church, much like our home church in
Tacoma Washington does. Up until now, we have used regular tracts
with our name stamped on the back.
The special event this month will be the 29, and we
will do the chalk drawing on the Titanic that I did at camp this summer.
Stephane will give the message as I draw. In Oct. we expect to
have another Mystery Night, to replace Halloween that has become
so popular here in France.
Alain, our neighbor, took us to dinner several weeks
ago. His son runs a restaurant about 10 minutes from us. He
is accepting more and more, I believe, the truths of the Bible.
Just one illustration : When it was mentioned during the
conversation that some Catholic Churches no longer teach Purgatory, he
asked what happens. When we responded (Biblically) that a person
after dying goes directly to Heaven or Hell, he said, "C' est
dur, ça!" (That's hard!) His tone of voice did
not dispute the truth, but convayed his acceptance. Well, any
thing is an encouragement with these people. He told us that when
he and his friends from the
village were talking about us, they had to laugh. It seems that
the former owner that built the house and lived here all his life was an
atheist. So, they found it ironic that now it is a church.
We appreciate your prayers. They truly
make a different. God bless you all, Terry, Tami and
children, Alps of France

Dec. 6, 2001
Dear Friends,
Emmuanuel came over last Sunday. Not for
services, though he promised he would. But we invited him to come
and play ping pong. Please pray for his salvation. He is
currently having difficulties with his "wife" (as many here,
they live together, and have been for about 6-7 years) as they are
having a rough time between them.
As well, the Kastl family moved to Paris, we
were running about 18-19, but now with them gone we are 5 less. As
well, Jacky and Leatitia move in two weeks to go to an Ind. Bapt. Bible
Institute in the north of France. They have been very faithful, and
while they will remain members here, their physical present will be
missed. As well, we need to find a new couple to replace
them in the Hand Bell Choir. Then too, Jean Luc has found a girl
friend, something we have been praying for a long time, he so wants a
wife. She is a Christian, but lives and goes to church about 1 1/4
hours away. Needless to say, we don't see him much. He
sought my counsel concerning the relationship, but spends all his time
with her. He even fasted and prayed about their relationship!
Please pray for him too.
But the reason primarily that I am writing is to ask for
your prayers for us Dec. 16, Sunday Afternoon, at 3PM our time (9AM your
time). We have practiced much since September with the Bells, and
I finally have my chalk board done, and I am working with the chalk
drawing I will be doing. We have already given the flyers out to
our three villages, and have given many personal invitations.
Please pray that we would have a good turnout, that the Spirit would be
free to move, and that folks would accept Christ as a result of the
Chalk Message. The French, like people all around the world,
promise to do something, (like come) but then they seldom show up.
This will be our last outreach for this year, and what a joy it would be
to see folks saved around the time of Christmas. A joy anytime of
course, but extra special this time of the year, as we celebrate
together our new birth because of the birth of Jesus.
Thank you for all you do for us, and especially
for your prayers concerning this request. May God bless you all!!!
