Dear
Pastor and Co-laborers,
Dave & Florence
May 2008
God is good all the time.
After two really good services on Good Friday in the churches and
another Easter Sunday, we praise God for His blessings.
The Spanish church in Almeria:
This month we had a baby a dedication
for a young Ecuadorian family, Florence and I were asked to be the
guardians of the baby if anything ever happen to the mom and dad. We
consider that a great honor, that they would trust us that much.
Having moved to Madrid more than a year ago, where they are now
faithfully attending church, they traveled 300 miles back here to
dedicate their baby to the Lord in our church. When they lived here and
attended our church one of them was saved and two baptized. They came
with 30 of their family and friends, among which is a singing group who
blessed us, and our church, with a mini concert. That Sunday the Lord
blessed with visitors and a good attendance to hear God’s Word
preached. One lady and her son heard the music from the street and so
came in to the church join the service.
We thank the Lord that we used our new
baptistery for the first time in April. We would like to thank to our
pastor Rev. Gregory and church for donating the funds to build our first
indoor baptistery. It was an important baptism for us as the young man
finally took a stand and followed the Lord in baptism, even though his
very catholic mother was very angry. Please pray with us for her
salvation.
Ana, a Jehovah Witness lady is attending
our services Sundays and Wed. She is comparing notes. Ana, has told me
it is confusing for her; after years of being taught one way she is now
examining a doctrine that she had never heard of before. We will trust
God and see what happens with this.
The African church in Roquetas:
This church is doing very well. We
go out once a month to teach and preach. When we get there they have a
multitude of questions that they have written and want answered. So,
Sunday school can take a very long time, but they don’t mind. They are
conducting the services the rest of the month themselves and beginning
to grow as the members visit and invite. Pray that God will continue to
bless.
Family news:
We gave a book to our grandchildren for Easter about
Jesus dying on the cross to save us. The first thing my grandson Jason
said was “Grandpa read me the story”. So I did. Then he said read it
again. I enjoy being a grandpa. We have all heard the joke (story), but
the truth is, it really happened in our church. A mother told her
five-year-old son about his need to repent and ask Jesus for forgiveness
if he wants to go to heaven and he told his mother that he didn’t want
to get saved. When our daughter Michele asked Jason why he did not want
to ask Jesus to save him he said, “Mommy if I get saved I’ll die and
go to heaven, but I don’t want to die right now. I want to stay here
with you and Daddy”.
Lord bless you all.
In His Love,
Dave & Florence McDonald
