History in the Making

Dear Prayer Warriors,                                                                                                                 January 2006

            Thank the Lord our country has kept God in their Constitution. With a touch of elegance mixed with the island flavors, Palau's ConCon2 members have finalized the amendments to their Constitution. Allow me to share the process.
            After the election that selected representatives from all over Palau, 9 delegates were given 60 days and three readings to make the rewrite proposals.
            I was asked by the High Chief to assist in giving spiritual advise to these selected representatives. It was after my first meeting with Chief Ibedul that I wrote you, our prayer warriors. I asked you to assist me in God's leadership and any help with wording Palau's Constitution. I want to give special thanks to a couple of Champions of the Faith, Bro. Wendell Hiers and Bro. Wayne Williams, who kept in contact with me and wrote extensive articles for this purpose. Thank you Brethren! Thanks also to the many other friends who helped with a word here and there and those who held up my hands before the Lord - God bless each of you. Together we have been making history! Our efforts will make a difference for all Palauans for generations to come.
            After many hours of praying and reviewing the parts of the Constitution that affects morals, values and the freedoms of religion, I was able to put together a list of suggestions for the High Chief. We ran everything past a couple of lawyers and each of them liked the working so we submitted it.
            Presently, the 60 days have expired and the third reading has passed 22 proposed changes. Not all of these included issues that pertained to what concerns Christians and churches but the overall welfare of the country is what the men and women had in mind. Thank the Lord for several very important issues that were adopted by these delegates. Some of these include the following:

            Other issues that were proposed (the 10 Commandments, Prayer in Public school and government, etc) were said to be better addressed with laws rather than actual constitutional wording. So we plan on helping Palau continue its journey as a "Christian nation" in every area in which the Lord allows us to participate. For now we covet your prayers that the Moonies (cult) will stop giving out expensive trips and donations to politicians to help promote their ideas of "Peace" and "Unification" of all religions. These folk are very dangerous, I Thes 5:1-3! We have just started to see some wonderful fruit here in Palau and we do not want to loose our foot hold to a cult such as this. PRAY for us Brethren!
