4/20/2007 Dear Co-Laborers:Since some have concluded that I have retired, I felt that 1 should write and let you know my present position. It has even been reported by some that 1 have retired. There is no such thought in my mind. When I surrendered to missions it was for life. Just as when I was called to preach it was for life. Some of Paul's most fruitful work was done while he was unable to be among his churches, because he was in a Roman prison. However I did want to be honest with my supporting churches, that because of health problems and the fact of the locations of my works that I might not be able to live full time on those fields, as we are now in our mid-70's. My ministry has been church planting. This ministry of church planting has also necessitated the establishment of Bible Institutes in order that leaders might be trained to lead the churches. The fields of service for these ministries have been; Indonesia, New Zealand, and Singapore. All of the churches which I have established are under the ministry of men trained in the schools established under my ministry. The churches are autonomous and indigenous. (I am including an email from one of my students) I am currently on medical furlough and can be contacted at the following addresses: Dr. Shelby Mayo, 2221 Norwegian Dr. Apt. 41, Clearwater, FL 33763. Email Addresses: ibmao.com@verizon.net (Phone 727-723-0179)But I do keep myself busy working on Bible courses for my students on my web site (www.ibmao.com). I am also available for mission conferences. I have been preaching a 9 message series in a little Baptist church about an hour from where I live. My pastor wants me to do the same series in His church. Missionary Chesley Tibbitts wants me to do the same series in his church in the Cayman Islands. I am also helping our church revamp our mission program, and I plan some mission field trips when we are able. Please extend our heartfelt thanks to your church for your prayer and support. We are His for service, Shelby & Stella Mayo Since April 27, 2007 you are visitor number: |
