Dear Pastor, Church and Praying Friends,
Philippians 1:3 “I think my God upon every remembrance of you…”
The Lord has richly blessed our first term. There were some trails and
many blessings. Leaving the field came with mixed emotions. In one way it was
exciting to be back in the states and close to family, while on the other hand
we felt sad to leave the people and the work. We thank the Lord for His watch
care over the ministry and our family.
We left the works in the hands of a national couple, Ofelio and Rosa
Jusaino. They have been helping us in the works of Higueras and San Miguel for
the past year and a half. In our absence Ofelio will continue to hold services.
This couple has been a help to us in the works and we praise the Lord for
a willing and capable couple in whose hands to leave the works. Please
pray for this precious family.
Before leaving for furlough we held V.B.S. in Higueras. There were classes
for children, young people and adults. We had a great week with more than a
hundred attending each day. Friday we finished with more than one hundred sixty
and with twenty-two accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Praise the
Lord!
The Mayo Indian Bible Baptist Institute will soon begin fall
classes. They will be carrying on a limited schedule during our absence.
Please pray for the teachers and the students as they continue studying the Word
of God.
We are excited to share with you that Anna accepted Jesus as her Savior in
July. She also started first grade a few weeks ago and is very excited about
that. However, Matthew was sad and cried the first day Anna went to school.
Carolyn and I are getting settled in and have already begun visiting some
churches. We need to raise some additional support before returning to the field
next summer. Please pray for our family and for the additional support we need
