November 2002

Dear Pastor, Church and Praying Friends,

We now are half way through the 2002 fall semester of the Mayo Indian Bible Baptist Institute.  We have just over forty students this semester.  We are excited to have new students coming from Higueras and Cruz Pinta.  There are a wide range of students from those who will be graduating this spring to those who just started.  Please continue to pray for the students and teachers of the Bible institute.

The works in Higueras and Cruz Pinta are going well.  This past month I had the privilege of baptizing two believers from Higueras.  We are seeing growth in the lives of our members and willing hearts to serve the Lord.  There are three attending the Bible institute from Higueras and one from Cruz Pinta.  Pray the Lord will use these people to grow and become leaders in their villages.

In San Miguel we are also seeing the Lord work in the lives of His children.  One of our ladies was visited by some Jehovah Witnesses a few weeks ago.  The people here are polite and normally listen to anyone who comes by.  However, Lupita was bold enough to tell them she was not interested in what they had to say.  Also, we have seen growth in the lives of others that are attending regularly.

In the village of Jahuarah one of the faithful baptized believers passed away due to a heart attack.  We were contacted on Tuesday afternoon and that evening we went to be with the family.  The next day he was buried and I was invited to say a few words.  I spoke about our hope as Christians as many family members cried and screamed for there loved one.  Those who were drunk were telling me how they believed in God and agreed with me.  We are hoping to see fruit from this event.

We are thankful to Grace Baptist Church of Ft. Worth for the blessing they were in helping build a shelter at the campsite in Camayeca. Missionary Jim Foster was also a great blessing in helping with suggestions for the shelter and helping to translate during services. Pastor Williams and Ms. Wimm organized the trip and we tried to get everything in order for when they arrived.  It was a full week of work and services but by noon Friday the 7x14 (meters) shelter was finished.  Now we have a place for church fellowships, youth camp, youth meetings and a new mission.  Praise the Lord!

We want to thank you so much for your prayers and love for us.  You are a great  blessing to us and our work among the Mayo People.  We wish you a merry Christmas and happy New Year.  God Bless You!

In Christ,
