   August, 2009

Dear co-laborer in Christ,
We have never mentioned in any of our prayer letters anything about the place where we live and serve the Lord. So let me do so at this time.
Ours is the small country town of Dudleyville, AZ without a Post Office, (Our Post Office is in Winkelman, Az.) without a WAL-MART and without just about anything you could ask for in the way of businesses, since we have no restaurants, no grocery stores and no other kind of businesses at all. We have one service station which is a convenient store and that is it. However, we have the greatest little Country Church in all of Arizona (San Pedro Valley Baptist Church). Our Son Timothy (Pastor Tim) is the pastor of the church, and as he says, "when you attend our church and become members you have never been so loved".

We still have a few who attend regularly our Spanish services each Sunday evening at 5, but the economic crunch has left us with only a few Hispanics in all this area. So we have to be faithful to the few who are faithful here and want to hear the Bible teachings in their language each week. Because of the size of our work some churches have cut our support not seeming to understand that we still have bills to pay and things to purchase in the Lord's work whether it be large or small. Our blessings are many because of how the Lord allows us to be a part of His work here. Two of our grandchildren are also involved with us in this ministry which we trust they will use one day on a mission field. And please understand that our ministry here is more than just what we do with the Hispanics, although that has been and still is our main objective in being here.
Our ministry with the elderly of the church is such a blessing to us since we who have advanced in age understand each other when the younger folks do not. We have regular Senior Breakfasts with them when we try to encourage them spiritually with a devotional time after the meal. Then we take them on a trip to either Tucson or Phoenix to the big grocery stores when they feel the group needs to go. Jo Ann is now the official piano player (the only piano player) in the church. Both of us are involved in other ministries in the church that would not be carried out otherwise. I had the privilege of preaching both services in English on a Sunday last month, since the pastor had to be with his father-in-law who was admitted to emergency surgery at 11:00 o'clock that Sunday morning in a hospital in Phoenix. Two ladies came asking about baptism after the morning message.
The church here partially supports us as one of their missionary families like other churches do. So please KEEP ON PRAYING for us and we are VERY GRATEFUL for your financial support.
