January 2009
May we begin by wishing all of you, our supporting churches and friends,
a very Happy New Year 2009. Trusting also that you had a Very Merry Christmas like we did. It was again a joy being with our son and
family, especially with our grandkids at such a wonderful time of the
year.
God has been so good to us in so many ways. We're especially grateful to
each of our supporting churches. The special Christmas offerings sent to
us by some of you have helped us get caught up on some of our bills and
have made our Holidays a little bit more enjoyable. Thanks a bunch.
With the economy like it is being portrayed by some, and the
unemployment rate as the media tells us it is, "so
high"...(Europe is already in double digits)...right now, it may
seem hard to be overjoyed at most anything. However we as believers in
Christ, servants of the Most High God, know that He is still on His
throne, and our hope is not in man but in Him. We have so much to be
thankful for, and so much to rejoice in still.
Oton, the man we led to Christ
earlier last year, has finally gotten well enough to come to church again,
and we trust he will be
baptized soon. Lupe has been given a clean bill of health by
the doctors...no
more cancer in sight. and she is coming regularly to the services.
One of our young men who had
earlier thought his ways were better than God’s, has
returned realizing that he was not really saved, even though he had made
a profession of faith at a very young age. After he trusted the Lord and
really was saved he asked
for baptism and membership in the church. That has
taken place and he is rejoicing in the Lord, Amen?
The college course I took ended the
second Monday in December. During the course I was able to paint the
church van, a paint job valued at $4000.00 for less than $500.00 and the
paint job on my car valued at around $3000.00 for less than $500.00
also. However we did not realize that at my age the extra stress and the
labor that both vehicles cost me, would
afterwards cause me to be laid up for some time with shingles, and I am
still not fully recovered from the pain
that this virus
causes. Please remember me in your prayers. But thanks to my Lord for
allowing me to meet and be a testimony to several college students and
to the professor. We have not seen any visible spiritual results yet,
but we are still praying.
Blessings
once again to each of you during the New Year 2009 is the
desire of the both of us.
