GARY & SANDY JANKY
MISSIONARIES TO ECUADOR

December 2008

Greetings from the Janky Family,

It is hard to believe that the Christmas Season is upon us.  This year seemed to go by so quickly.  We praise God for the year we have had thus far.  It has had its share of ups and downs but we are continually reminded of what God promised in Ephesians 1:3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. God blessed us with physical healing with Sandy’s surgery but also spiritual blessings too numerous to mention here.

During this Christmas Season we began to review the year and give thanks to God for all that He has done.  While living our hustle and bustle lives we often do not recognize God’s working in response to our prayers.  He was quietly at work in the lives of our family throughout this year with Sandy’s successful surgery, health issues within our family and the scales falling from the eyes of the unbelieving people that we are witnessing to and praying for.  We hope that you, too, have experienced all the wonderful spiritual blessings He has for your life.  We truly serve an incredible God.

This has been a hard year for our believers in Ecuador.  We lost many of our dearly loved people to illnesses.  The poor mountain believers cannot under any circumstance seek the necessary medical help and they do the best they can with home remedies.  Tuberculosis runs rampant and they become ill and die of that disease without ever seeing a doctor.  We all need to pray for the missionaries that serve the people as seeing the heartache of people dying and not being able to do much for them causes a lot of pain in the hearts of God’s people who were called to carry His Word to them.  We have witnessed incredible strength and faith from God’s people who are losing their lives to disease.  We can learn much from them about trusting God in every circumstance.

We close with this.  It is with great gratitude in our hearts that we send greetings and wishes for a blessed Christmas Season.  We have been truly blessed by your support, friendship, encouragement and prayers over these past 30 years.  As we continue in this labor of love together, we are asking God to show us all great and mighty things in the coming year that we can rejoice together seeing many more spiritual blessings.

Merry Christmas and a blessed 2009.
