THE JOHN HORTON FAMILY

Missionaries to "Northern" Brazil

I will bless the LORD at all times:His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalms
34:1

Dear beloved Pastor and brethren,

My family and I are so grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ for all that He has done in and through our lives. I am reminded of how David, in the Psalms, never ceased to thank the LORD for His goodness... yes, God is truly GOOD and His mercy endureth forever, and we will continually bless and praise Him!
In our last letter we asked you to pray regarding Isa's US citizenship. As I sit to write this letter, Isa is preparing our suitcase for our trip to the United States on April the 14th. Here are the details: we will be in the US for about two weeks; while there, we will renew her visa and try once more, to begin the process of getting her US citizenship. There's just one BIG road bump! The US requires that all applicants be in the US for an uninterrupted period of at least 3 years, and that doesn't work for Isabel. They do have a permit for missionaries and others, which allow her being here count as being there. We have tried to obtain this document a number of times before but have failed. Isa has to return every year to renew her visa and that gets expensive. Please pray for God's hand in this matter. There is NOTHING too hard for the Lord! (Genesis 18:13-14)
We have received news from Fabio in Afghanistan! He is doing well! He told us that it does take some getting used to and the constant threat of bombardment does keep him on edge, but he knows that God is protecting and keeping him! He just received a promotion to Staff Sergeant and is really happy about that. We would appreciate it if you would keep him in your prayers as we are sure many of you do!
Since our last letter 5 more people have come to know the Lord as Savior, WOW!; and one day you will meet Gabriel, Valeria, Carol, Renata and Deusa...if not here (Hintl Hintl - come visit us!) in heaven! Please pray for these precious souls as they will be baptized and begin their growth in the Lord Jesus Christ as members of the Igreja Batista Independente of Cidade Nova. Brother Esmeraldo, a 58 year old man, also joined the church by way of letter from one of the local Baptist churches in a neighboring city. Folks. these are your prayers in action!  Soon we will have their pictures on our website (www.johnhortonphotography.com) for you to see. Every week the church continues to go out soul winning and handing out tracts and we KNOW that God honors this and will give us more souls! KEEP PRAYING!
I believe that Jesus Christ is VERY near to returning! Things happening in Israel right now point to that fact more than ever before, and there is still so much work to be done. Please pray for us as we come to the end of one more semester of Bible Institute and prepare for the summer months. We are commanded to be faithful to the end...and that's what we INTEND TO DO! THANK YOU for your faithful prayer and financial support! May God richly bless you as we continue working together for the cause of Christ!

Straight ahead until Christ comes,

John D. Horton
