Dear prayer partners:

"The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works." Psalm 145:9. We praise the Lord that His tender mercies are over all His works, including those here in the Baja peninsula. The Sublime Prayer Baptist Church continues to see the rich blessing of the Lord upon her ministries, with souls being saved, believers following in baptism, and members winning souls and growing in His marvelous grace. They recently were presented the opportunity to buy 5 adjoining lots in an area on the east side of Tijuana in which they had been running a bus, and 2 of our graduates are beginning a mission there.

The Tijuana Fundamental Baptist Bible Institute held its graduation on June 15th, with nine students graduating. One of the graduates, José Reyes and his wife Isabel have just moved to La Paz where they have taken over the work of a missionary who had to leave the field because of his health. Another graduate, Mario Nungaray, continues on at present as youth minister at Sublime Prayer. He plans to go to Chihuahua and work with the Tarahumara in the future. Still another, Omar Islas, plans to go to southern Mexico to begin a church after his wife graduates from the institute. Please keep these and past graduates in your prayers as they labor, and pray that He will continue to send forth more laborers from our midst to this needy country of Mexico as well as other areas of our globe.

Two days following graduation, a group of 16 men from Faith Baptist Church in Dearborn Heights Michigan arrived to erect a 2 story, 4 apartment dormitory for our married students. The slab was laid, the roof trusses built and most of the material was on the grounds. They hit the ground running on Monday afternoon, and when they went back across the border on Thursday of the next week, the work was nearly complete, even with the cabinets in. GLORY!! Thank you, Faith Baptist!

As happens every year since its beginning, we expect an increase in enrollment as classes start again in a few weeks, with probably over 60 full-time students on campus, coming from various areas of Mexico. AMEN!!

Please continue to pray for Gloria and her problems stemming from fibromyalgia, and other problems which she also has. Thanking you for your continued faithful support, we remain:

Yours in Him,

Norm & Gloria Higgins

Dear prayer partners:

"Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."  Eph 5:16

Another school year has come and gone, another class of students has graduated, and now we are gearing up for yet another year of classes at the Tijuana Fundamental Baptist Bible Institute. Although we never know how many students we will have to begin the semester until the first day of classes, we expect at least 64 to begin the new semester in a few weeks. We know of 5 married couples planning to attend this year also. We do not want to turn anyone away that wants to study, so  we are having to hustle to make living arrangements for them all on campus. Please pray for the following: (1) Funds for the needed additional food (2) Some travel trailers for married housing. (3) We are also are in great need for more classroom space.

We had a couple of groups come and help get some needed work projects done on campus, for which we are grateful. The flooring in one of the ladies' mobile homes was in bad shape and we were able to get it repaired and  a porch built onto our mobile home, as well as some plumbing, painting and landscaping work done in several areas of the campus.

Graduation was held on campus this year, with a good crowd attending, and all went well. This was our third graduating class, and there were eight students that graduated this year. This was our largest class yet. One of the graduates, Bro. Marcos Tolentino, has surrendered to go to S. Africa as a missionary. We praise the Lord that the enrollment continues to climb each year as we prepare men and women for the harvest fields here in Mexico and around the globe. The annual primitive youth camp held in the mountains south of Tijuana was a great success, with 150 attending and many decisions made for the Lord.

Yours in Christ,

Norman Higgins

Dear praying friends:

We continue to stay busy and the Lord continues to richly bless the work here in Tijuana. The churches are doing well and continue to grow spiritually as well as numerically. There were 401 in attendance for Sunday School last Sunday at the Sublime Prayer Baptist Church, and souls  were saved in both morning and evening services. There are over twenty professions of faith in Christ being made every month. This is the result of God blessing the bus routes and the hard work on the part of its members.

The new mission in Colonia Presidentes, which was begun a few months ago out of Sublime Prayer Baptist, is now having attendance over 50 consistently. They are meeting in a rented house. Pray with them for their own property there. Bro. Andy Racicot, an American and one of our graduating Bible Institute students, is in charge of that work and doing a fine job.

The Tijuana Fundamental Baptist Bible Institute also continues to do well, with the students continuing diligently in their studies as they work hard in their respective churches.  There are forty-two students on campus now, and there will be eight graduating this June.  Please continue to pray for this school and its financial needs. Work continues on the property there; we now have 3 septic tanks complete except for drain fields, and a new restroom facility with FLUSH toilets nearly done. We could not begin to express what a blessing and benefit it has already been to the work here in the Tijuana area, and will be more so as our students continue to graduate and go out to begin new ministries in this great metropolitan area.

Please also be in prayer for Gloria’s health. She has osteoarthritis, neuropathy and fibromyalgia, causing severe muscle problems and constant pain. Because of this she is unable to push a standard wheelchair, and needs to obtain an electric one. She is still able to walk much of the time, but there are many times that she can’t. We are praying that the Lord will provide a  wheelchair that she can use.

 Yours in Christ,

Norman Higgins
