Dear Prayer Partners,
Wow, what a month August was!
This past month found us scrambling to adjust to a new schedule.
Brother Steve Thornton and his wife Mary of necessity had to go
to
Colorado
due to the illness of Steve’s parents.
We have temporarily stepped in until they can return.
This has meant some fast rescheduling, and an increase in message
preparation. Along
with all this is the starting up of an online mission class at
Arlington
Baptist
College
, and the possibility of another new work beginning in October.
We have also had to tie a lot of loose ends connected with the
passing of Daisey’s dad. Who
said the golden years can’t be fun!
Brother Rich Thomas and the
Faith
Way
Baptist
Church
in
Wellington
,
Colorado
have secured a new location for the services.
The move has opened a lot of new possibilities for the church.
Please continue to pray for this infant work and Brother Thomas
and his family. Winter comes
early in
Colorado
; so, let’s pray the Lord will give them a steady growth in spite of
the cold winter months.
Brother David McDaniel and the
Anchor
Baptist
Church
in
Jackson
,
Georgia
continue to reach out to the community in
Jackson
. The McDaniels are happy
for the safe return of their daughter from
Afghanistan
. We wish to thank all of
you who held this young lady up in your prayers.
Please keep on praying for David and Rebekah and the
Anchor
Baptist
Church
. We’re asking the Lord to
give all of these new works a blow out fall as they seek to reach their
city with the Gospel.
We have a new prayer request concerning the preparations that are
being made to begin the new work in October.
Pray for Brother Willie Milby and his family as they seek to
start this new endeavor. It
will be an excellent opportunity to start a racially cross-cultural
church in south
Grand Prairie
,
Texas
. After meeting Brother
Milby and hearing him preach recently, I’m convinced he will be able
to reach out to a racially diverse community in south
Grand Prairie
. Already a location has
been secured and is being readied for the first service.
Please keep this work and God’s servant in your prayers.
Unworthily His,
Bro. Hiers
