March 2010

  Dear Prayer Partner,

With February being short a few days, and having to spring forward this coming weekend, plus the events of the last few days, I’m not only running behind, I’m just a tad bit dispirited.

With all that’s going on in the economy right now everyone seems to be struggling.  Newly appointed missionaries work hard just to make appointments, and many of the veteran missionaries are experiencing a scaling down of support due to the down turn in the economy and jobless situation.  While all of the new works are struggling somewhat, they continue to press on, knowing God will supply needs as they arise.  Both the Home Mission Program and our personal support have seen a decline, but God is able.

When I took this position several years ago I felt that I would not need to secure much support as we planned to use our Social Security to help with personal support.  Now with the downturn in the economy, no increase in Social Security and runaway inflation, things have changed.  I did not want to be in a clash with the newly appointed missionaries, and have avoided seeking more personal support.  I am now faced with the fact that in order to maintain a decent level of support for the Home Mission Program, I’m going to have to seek some personal support.  I ask that you please pray with me in this matter.

On Sunday February 28th Daisey suffered a falling accident that resulted in a simple fracture of the cheekbone, nose and a mild concussion,  I am happy to report that:  she will not have to have surgery, her glasses were still under warranty, and her teeth were not damaged.  She was able to return to work on March 8th, and the discoloration in her face improves with each passing day.

The new work in Topeka, Kansas is under way under the leadership of Bro. Dale Stockburger.  Two other works are on schedule for this year—one in Vermont and one in Texas.  Please begin to pray for these two new works.

Thanks for your continued prayers and support for us and the Home Missions Program.

Unworthily His,

   Wendell & Daisey
