February 2010
Dear Co-Workers,
In Brazil they have a saying, “Estou
mais atrasado do que o mes de Fevereiro.”
Translation:
“I am more behind than the month
of February.” I’ve
hardly made a dent in my “Things to Do” list, and here it is the 8th
of the month already.
Ground Hog Day I celebrated my 58th
birthday in the Lord. It really doesn’t seem that long ago, but when
you’re having fun they say that time flies.
In spite of all the doom and gloom, 2010 has gotten
off to a good start. Anchor
Baptist Church in Jackson, Georgia and McGregor Baptist Church in
McGregor, Texas have both had their Faith Promise Mission Conferences
for the year, and both have taken on missionaries.
Bro. Dale Stockburger is now on site in Topeka, Kansas, found a
job and is starting a Bible study. The
Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas just celebrated its
first anniversary with Dr. Lloyd Meyer on hand to mark the
occasion.
On the horizon are the possibilities of a new work
in Justin, Texas and Burlington, Vermont.
We would ask your prayers and support for these new
opportunities. Bruce Exley,
an Arlington Baptist College grad, is now in Justin and hopes to begin a
Bible study soon. Todd
Vossen plans to move to Vermont when the present school year is over.
Todd has previously made a survey trip to the state and feels a
real burden for this area.
We hope your new year has gotten off to a good
start, and you aren’t as behind in your “Things to Do” list as we
are. Thank you for support
and prayers for us, and the home mission program.
Unworthily His,
Wendell &
Daisey Hiers
