Think what we can do together!
World Baptist FELLOWSHIP
HOME Missions
OCTOBER
2007
Dear Prayer Partners,
This past month I had the privilege of visiting the two new works
here in Texas. Plans are to
visit the work in Georgia this month and the work in Colorado sometime
this fall, finances permitting.
Bro. Steve Thornton, a 2006 graduate of Arlington
Baptist College, and his wife, Mary, began The Lighthouse Baptist Church
in their home in Keller, Texas in December of 2006.
Keller is a fast growing bedroom community to the Dallas/Ft.
Worth metroplex.
One of the basic needs for this new work was a
larger meeting place. Well,
God answered that prayer this past month when Bro. Thornton came in
contact with the Social Director of the Conservatory, a recently
constructed senior living facility.
Their first service in a fully-equipped room that will seat 40
people was almost full. The
service director told Bro. Thornton that they have a larger space that
will seat close to 100 if he needs it.

Recently, newly appointed missionary to Australia, Matt Thorpe
and his family presented their field to The Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Already, this young church is supporting missionaries.
I’m also happy to report that McGregor Baptist Church has just completed a one-year anniversary. They
marked the event with a good old-fashioned Baptist “dinner on the ground”, and a week-long Bible Conference.
Bro. Wade Copeland, former pastor of the Hill Country Baptist Church of Junction, Texas, was the conference speaker.
The church has located 11 acres, and will need $58,000 to purchase the land. It’s in a prime location. They
hope to raise 20% of this before going to the bank for the purchase.
Pray about helping this young church, and if God so leads, you
may send your gift marked “McGregor Baptist Church” to the Mission
Office. Their church, too,
recently took on support of several WBF missionaries.
Daisey and I appreciate your prayers and support.
Unworthily

Wendell & Daisey Hiers
