AUGUST 2007
Home Missions
Dear Home Mission Supporters,
Here’s hoping you’ve had a great summer. We have! It has
been one of the wettest springs and summers we have had in Texas in a
long time. The drought
we’ve had in north Texas is officially over.
However, the drought I want to tell you about concerns the work
of Bro. David McDaniel in Jackson, Georgia.
Over a year ago Bro. McDaniel took me late one night to see a
church property that had been closed for several years.
He later contacted the people in charge of the property only to
be told that they planned to reopen the church Easter Sunday of 2006. It never happened, and several weeks ago they contacted him
and offered to rent the property for $255.00 a month. He had previously paid $50.00 a service at a new Red Roof Inn
up the road several miles. The
church will seat around 200 and has a number of Sunday School class
rooms, and a fellowship hall.
On July 29th the Anchor Baptist Church met for the
first time in this new location, attendance 37.
PRAISE THE LORD! It
has been a struggle for Bro. McDaniel, but God has rewarded his
faithfulness, and we are praying that the work there has finally turned
a corner. Please keep Bro.
McDaniel, Bro. Rich Thomas, Bro. Charlie Brown, and Bro. Steve Thornton
in your prayers. By the
way, McGregor Baptist Church, Bro. Brown, took on 4 missionaries last
month.
