Tim Hawkins Family - Brazil

March 2005,

Dear Helpers,

"Matthew 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish." January is vacation time in Brazil. We held our annual Daily Vacation Bible School on the 20-23 of January. Our story was Ti-fam, a missionary story from Haiti this year.  The children also brought their offerings for one of our missionaries. They were able to raise $60.00 which is a lot for here in Brazil. Our attendance was over 100 for which we thank the Lord. Several decisions were made and about 10 of the children who came for the first time have continued coming to Bible Club on Saturday and also Sunday School.

We had a thief visit our church in January .He stole our water pump and CD player.  The next day my assistant pastor went looking around for our pump at some of the stores. Sure enough it was being re-sold about 6 bks. from the Church. We had kept the receipt for it, which has the serial number written on it, so we were able to prove it was ours and get it back! Praise the Lord. We weren't able to find the CD Player, but have been able to purchase another. God is continuing to bless us with visitors and growth. Our Adolescents went to a youth Rally and brought home a trophy for FIRST PLACE in Sword drills, Bible questions and Bible Knowledge! They are still excited! I am bringing a series of lessons on marriage and the home for the couples of our church. Please pray that their hearts will be open to God's Word.

Bible Institute started on the 7th of March with 25 students returning and 5 new students starting.  Four will be graduating on May 28th. We also have three other Bible Institutes going on at the same time. Two are in the Indian tribes and the other one is located in another town.  We supply the Indian tribes with the same material we teach here.  Please pray for these Bible Institutes. There are so many churches that can't find Pastors even here in the city, much less in the Rural areas.  More and more we are seeing a great need for sound Bible Teaching.  Very few Bible Schools in Brazil are maintaining their stand on Fundamental Bible preaching, teaching and living.

We are once again proud grandparents. Melissa blessed us with a beautiful baby girl born on March 17th, Chloe Elizabeth Weaver.  We were able to see her picture via the internet and even heard her cry over the telephone. Jonathan and Lucia are in the D.C. area. He was able to find a better job there. Anna is stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas for a few months and then will be sent to Iraq. Please pray for her!

In His Service,
Tim & Betty Hawkins
