Dear Pastor and Church Family
Jer 32:17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the
heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there
is nothing too hard for thee:
It has been a busy month for Rebecca and me, but we
are thankful to be back in Manaus and in the Church at Campos Sales! We
arrived, as scheduled, on June the 19th and breezed through customs like
never before. They did not even require Rebecca to put her baggage
on the X-ray machine. The only thing they wanted to know about in my
bags was the bottle of mustard and a tub of peanut butter, and they did
not even keep those items. What a blessing!
After we arrived, we had four days to prepare the
house to receive Pastor and Lindey Justice. They arrived on Tuesday and
were able to stay until the next Monday morning. The Lord gave us good
weather while they were here, and it was not too hot.
Pastor and Mrs. Justice left on Monday morning for
Sao Paulo, and Rebecca and I followed them on Thursday, to a conference
that was held in an interior town called Presidente Prudente. We had the
opportunity to meet Brethren that we had never met before, and we were
able to preach a few times also. Rebecca and I were encouraged and
blessed by the conference! We arrived home almost a week later.
We are still looking for a car. We found one that was
within our budget, but it has document problems, and we are still
wondering what to do about it. I am stunned with the prices of things in
Brasil now. I am sorry that I did not bring more with me when I came.
The dollar has really taken a hit overseas.
We are waiting for the city to give us the OK to
build on our property. They have not said that they are not going to
take our land, but that is what they have implied. We are encouraged
with this news, but will not know for sure until next month. Please
continue to pray about this for just a little longer!
Rebecca and I are heading out to the Public school
today to see about continuing with the Bible classes. The ladies of the
church were able to keep it going during our absence, but they are
drained. We are not sure we will have enough teachers to continue. By
the time you receive this, we will have already had to make a decision
as to whether continue or not.
My email account will change by the end of August. Please note my new
address: paricatubaiohn@yahoo.com
Internet service in Manaus is
not the best in the world, but we will try and make it work for us. I
have a web page in the making also, it is not done yet, but you will get
the idea; jandrhawkinsibbaotbc.com
Please feel free to use what you
need off of it.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and love. We
appreciate every one of you. Lord bless you.
