NATIVE AMERICANS

Dear Friends in Christ,                                                                                                         January 2010

Sometimes this page seems so small when you have so much to share.  What an ending to 2009 because of the blessings of God!
October 11th we celebrated our first baptismal service baptizing six, which included Doug and Naomi Hickman with four other youth.  It was a great service, but the water was a bit on the chilly side.  Though I didn’t get in the tank with them, I ended up almost as wet.  We are now looking forward to spring and warmer weather for our next baptismal.
We want to thank all those who contributed to our “Toys for Navajo Tots.”  We received toys and/or funds from twelve churches and eight individuals or families.  The response was simply more than we ever expected.  On Friday evening, December 11, we met at the church and wrapped gifts for four hours and had more than 100 Christmas presents wrapped when we finished.
Our Christmas program and service on December 20th was far greater than we had anticipated.  Ronda worked very hard with her class and she ended up with a choir of twenty-three children.  (Thankfully we had Raymond and Claire White visiting for the weekend from Anchor Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, TX; they were a real blessing and Raymond was able to take some superb pictures of the day.)  After the program I preached a short message to those present and those who were continuing to arrive.  Then it was time to give out the Christmas gifts.  What an occasion!  Each child received at least three wrapped Christmas gifts, plus they were able to go through grab boxes and take the small presents that we did not have time to wrap.  To end the morning we had a Christmas lunch and when it was all over, as close as we can tell, we had 86 in attendance with 22 first-time visitors.
All of these blessings were an answer to prayer.  It allowed us to meet many of the parents and siblings of those that we are picking up in the van.  It has opened new doors that otherwise would have been closed.  We cannot begin to thank everyone who made this event possible, but believe me we could not have done it without you and the help of our Lord.
We are looking forward to a great 2010 and your continued support to win the lost in this part of our world.  God bless you all!

Sincerely,
Bradley & Ronda Hastings
