September 2009
Dear
Friends,
Wow, I made it through the summer without dehydrating! The rains of
September have brought relief to any whose wells and rivers were dry. I
was a bit concerned about my health when after downing a liter of water I
felt as dry and thirsty as before. This summer's electric bill ran high
through the constant opening of the refrigerator door and from the almost
24 hour use of the fans. The cooler temperature and rains have helped the
mosquito to breed bringing the danger of the dengue fever. There have been
a few more confirmed cases of the swine flu, one of those being a young
boy from our church. There is concern from the student body and faculty of
the area schools. If a child presents any symptoms he or she is either
sent home or not received in school until checked by a doctor. Please
continue in prayer for God's protection and for the healing of this boy.
The summer drought has brought much fruit in the Lord's field as we have
seen new additions to the church. The re-organizations of the Sunday
School and Bus Routes have been a major factor in this growth. Many of the
church members have become involved in a bus route bringing these visitors
to church.
Many of you may remember from my
DVD
video presentation that right before closing I mentioned the Mexican
families surrendering to go as missionaries abroad. One of these families
is already on the field in the
land
of
China
. The Martinez Family, since their arrival on the field, have been through
trials such as surgery on two of it's members, paperwork difficulties,
economic need and even physical danger. This is a somewhat restricted area
as far as getting the Gospel out. Bro. Juan (John) does not complain but
asks for God's people to under gird them in prayer.
May the Lord grant you the resources needed to remain faithful to your
mission commitment as I know is your desire and the confidence in his
provision.
Through
His Grace,
Your
Missionary to
Mexico
