July 2008

Dear Friends,
After two dry hot months we finally got relief. It has been raining sporadically for several days. We are still far below our normal rain levels but the temperature has cooled making things more tolerable.
Last month a lady missionary and son, who work in the same church as I do, accompanied me on a border trip to help me bring back part of my furniture and household items stored in the warehouse. We made a good load including one small air conditioner, several chairs, end tables and most of the boxed items. Now what's left are the really big heavy things that I can only lift and load with a man's help. Please pray for the next trip probably in August so that I can clean out the storage unit and save all that monthly rent.
As for my health it has been better after quitting soft drinks, coffee and most hot stuff.  I have had a skin infection something like psoriasis. I tried white iodine, antibiotic cream, aloe vera and body butter. I am very thankful for whoever gave the body butter to a mission closet or gift bag.
On Monday nights a church member and I usually meet at another members house in town to go soul winning in our Jewish outreach ministry. Last Monday night we all decided instead to attend a Bible conference at a church in town. We knew little about the church but wanted to hear a special speaker that would be preaching that night. The service started very late and the environment wasn't very spiritual so we decided to leave early.  On the way home we got turned around and needed directions. The driver decided to stop and asked a man who stood on the narrow street in front of a row of houses. As he asked for directions toward the main highway he took time to witness. When he pulled the car over we all got out and found someone to talk with. I took out an illustrated Gospel children's tract and began unfolding it. As I showed the pictures of separation from God, Hell, Heaven, Sin, Jesus Death and Resurrection, I was surrounded by attentive little faces. That night I won 10 children to Christ. The lady that was with me won 4 and the driver won the man who gave him directions. We were sad at not having heard the good preaching yet we were rejoicing over 15 souls saved through God's leading.
Please pray for our up-coming summer camps both children's and youth. Pray for those attending as well as the workers that God will bless with souls saved and decisions to serve Christ. Pray for strength and wisdom for each worker.
I appreciate the effort that you put forth to remain faithful in your mission giving. I know that everything in the U.S. is rising in price making your resources more limited every day. Thank You for trusting God to supply and for separating part of your limited resources in order to share the Gospel with those whom you have never met. Phil. 4: 19

In Christ,
