December 2005 Report

One blessing while on furlough was the prayer partners who shared having our prayer card since 1993, even since 1973. This dedication has produced conversions in our respective areas of service. Our supporters’ faith and sacrifices encourage us to seek a greater harvest.
            Faith Baptist Church in Tacoma, Washington, had an exceptional Mission Conference. After the Faith Promise, Pastor Mark Smith led the brethren in the last service to commit an exceedingly generous offering they had prepared all year to give the visiting missionaries. Learning their method has enabled other churches to also have similar outstanding results. (For any Baptist ministry their print shop economically produces high quality individualized materials [publications@work-of-faith.org
])

         Special offerings are enabling us to acquire equipment for the studio and office, plus funds to build two S.S. rooms for Capernaum Baptist where we pastor. Pray for God to provide $15,000.00 to help build the auditorium for New Life Baptist in La Esperanza where Paulino Sánchez pastors.
            The messages and unity at our World Baptist Fellowship’s Semi-annual Meeting were truly anointed of the Spirit. Pastor Raymond Haselhunn and the First Baptist Church of Canton, Michigan, were exceptional hosts. We appreciated the thoughtful gifts that we received from the Mission Store.
            Because our last regular furlough ended in 1993 the Lord lead us to visit only supporting churches under His guidance. The need to return to the field after seven months makes it impossible to visit everyone. We gratefully acknowledge the Lord’s strength during our heavy furlough travel.
            We arrive in Honduras on January 3rd, and then drive three hours back to the airport on the 5th for the Camp helpers’ arrival from the States.  From the 9th to the 13th we will help in a DVBS, and then the ladies will prepare the Camp and cook for the Ladies’ Bible Conference from the 19th to the 22nd. Pray God blesses these activities, and pray especially for Mary and the ladies during a very hectic month.
            Ernesto Pineda’s three-day Chalk Talk campaign in Capernaum Baptist resulted in four conversions among the excellent average attendance of 77. He also wrote that
land has been donated for the new rural mission in Sabánas, north of the capital. We anticipate a total of four building projects.
            Our television program have begun on two new cable network. Past fruit assures us there will be souls saved, believers baptized and added to the local Baptist churches.
            Having been separated from our family the last two years makes this year’s three holidays especially meaningful. The Christmas gifts and cards we received added to God’s blessings. Pray for our 40 year old son, Wayne, who in January will be the Army’s oldest basic training recruit.
            We wish you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. While the heathen mock and ridicule our uncompromising faith, we rejoice that Jesus is still the reason for the Season.
