JULY 2006 REPORT

Nine of eleven that Pastor Sánchez baptized were due to his television program. One is the owner of a very successful hardware store that we won to Christ some five years ago.
Thirty years ago we preached messages to a primitive Indian tribe that reaped thirteen souls. We were blessed to learn that the chief, Cipriano Martinez, is still faithful and that his son pastors their church.
It was a ten hour round trip drive to Vera Cruz, Copan, to award an Associate Degree to three men and a Bachelor’s Degree to their pastor in a special graduation ceremony. You deserve the gratitude they expressed because you enable us to make their institute possible.
Some converts from the five congregations these men have begun accompanied us in the service. The newest congregation, located in the industrial capital of San Pedro Sula, already has an attendance of 30.
On Mother’s Day in Capernaum Baptist we had 63 in attendance, a 25% increase. The founding pastor recently returned from the States repentant of the materialistic desire that caused him to abandon the sheep. His leadership opportunities will be restored according to his faithfulness.
Mary had to return to the States for medical tests. It was hoped that the parathyroid surgery would normalize her blood’s calcium level, but she is still having problems.
Because we lead the Iglesia Bautista Victoria in Wingate, NC, during a past furlough the men sought my counsel about a serious problem. Pray for this congregation as they seek a solution based on God’s will.
While some fellow trainees called our forty year old son “grandpa”, others doubted Wayne would finish the Army’s grueling Basic Training. Spiritually revived he glorifies God, recognizing that prayers enabled him to finish.
It was a privilege to also attend our son’s-in-law graduation from Basic Law Enforcement Training. Christopher joins Wayne as a Deputy Sheriff. In these Latter Days our military and law enforcement personnel need prayers!
Our two grandsons, Wayne and Billy Bratton (ages 13 and 9), traveled with us to Honduras. For two months they will learn how Pawpaw and Mimi live and be exposed to life in a foreign country. Pray God uses this time together for His glory. Laborers are needed for the mission field!
