JUNE 2004 REPORT
Two missionary wives and
two ladies from the States helped
Mary prepare the food for the 110 teens and counselors who attended camp during
Easter vacation. All were campers from our own churches, and for the first time
the pastors organized and executed the entire program.
About ten years ago it was our privilege to motivate Doblado
to begin an institute in his church. One result is two of his graduates who
pastor new churches. He recently asked us to motivate him to reinitiate the
classes.
A pastor in San Pedro Sula invited me to preach, "To
motivate my people to enroll in the classes." In another church thirteen adults responded to the invitation when we presented the need of formal
institute study.
The new institute in Puerto
Cortes has 30 students. In Campechuela and Las Tunas, Cuba, there are 55 students enrolled.
The services in Ojojona have become steadier under the
leadership of Jason Tate, a young missionary working with our ministry. He also
teaches in their institute and is using our videotapes to begin classes in two
churches in the Department of Paraíso.
Three surrendered for baptism in a
joint service we preached in Ojojona. The congregation in
Tamara baptized two in their first baptism, and celebrated their first
Lord's Supper. Pray for the men in two areas of the country who are making
preparations to begin services in two new communities.
Since we have been preaching in Santa Catarina the
attendance has been steady, and six have been baptized. Attendance in San
Jose is low. Pray for a national pastor for these congregations.
On May 23rd we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary
with a baptismal service involving three churches. There were 18 baptized,
and I won a soul to Christ who attended to witness his grown son's
baptism.
