The Easter Week camp in Honduras had about 128 campers this year. One
group of about 40 missed the camp completely when their charter bus deal
fell through. Transportation this time of the year is difficult because
it's vacation time. Thousands are heading for the beaches while others are
on some kind of a holy pilgrimage.
Although we can't go with every team or volunteer group the Lord is so
good to give us faithful volunteer workers. Ron and Melinda Beavers we
thank you for your unselfish dedication to the Lord's work.
Our construction trip to Honduras is still on hold while missionary
Mike Lane recuperates from prostate cancer treatments. Keep praying for
him. At last report the treatments and the prayers of God's people are
doing their job.
Another faithful couple, Mike and Joyce Jamison and yours truly made a
trip to the Minnetonka Christian Camp in the Kiamichee Mountains in
Oklahoma. Our mission was to install a new heating and cooling unit.
Mike's an electrician and did all the brain work while I did the gopher
chores. Camp director, Tom Crites, says everything is working fine
(surprise
surprise). The Crites are doing a super job at the camp. Check out their
web site at www.minnetonkacamp.com
Ecuador is still on the calendar for August 12 -19.
Looks as if we will have around 15 volunteers going. Our
mission is to replace a church roof with a cement one.
Africa for next year with missionaries Alan and Kathy
Hart. There's still time for you to get in on this one. Call me at
972-623-1126 or call the Mission Office, 817-274-7161.
Thank you for helping us continue on with HELPING
HANDS.
