THE DENSMORE FAMILY
MISSIONARIES TO NEW ZEALAND
February 2010
Dear Praying Friends,
We hope this letter finds you well.
Thank you all for everything. You were ministers of God to our family.
We thank you. As most of you know, 2009 was the hardest year for Joy and
I that we have ever encountered. God is good. It's over! Sometimes it is
hard to thank God for storms, but in the storm we can praise Him. Storms
allow us to see God in ways we have never seen Him before. Praise God
that he never leaves us nor forsakes us. You all have been great; the
countless prayers, the love offerings, monthly support, friendship,
cards, gifts, and so much more. You say that you have been blessed
through Eliana's testimony, we have been blessed through the
amazing demonstrations of love for our family. We thank God for you
folks daily.
Eliana has been home in heaven for
three months now. Every day is a little easier. Sometimes it feels
surreal. God is faithful. Her home going came as a surprise. We did not
expect her to be gone right now. However, God wanted her home more than
He wanted us to have her here. Since her home going, Joy and I have
been praying about what God has for us to do now. Sometimes when tragedy
strikes, we feel like we have to change, stop ,and do something else
immediately. God has gently reminded us that a baby church is not ready
for us to make any decisions right now. We have to finish what God has
started here in Denver. The church is not indigenous yet. It just needs
some more time. We have only had a little over 100 Sundays since we
started the work. After consulting with Bro. Raley, my pastor, and other
pastors, we need to finish 2010 here in Denver getting the church
completely established. Our prayer is by Christmas of this year our
church plant will be indigenous continuing for generations. We thank God
for what he has done. God has opened the door for our church to move
into the city and county of Denver Colorado. We are meeting in a former
Southern Baptist Church building that merged with another church.
The previous congregation meets at their other property. They are
willing to sell this wonderful building to our church for $28 a square
foot. That price is unheard of. Joy and I want to see this church be
able to support their pastor, building, and ministry by this Christmas.
We are concerned that this church would not continue strongly if we were
to leave right now. Much training and discipleship must be established.
After what God has done to build his church in such a short time,
especially with all that God has taken our family through, a good solid
10 months of work should bring this church to being a strong WBF church
by Christmas. Coming into Christmas, we will let everyone aware of our
future plans. Right now we must focus on what God has called us to
do. We are thrilled of the prospect of seeing a good solid Baptist
church plant established in three years here in Denver. If you would
have told me three years ago about the letter I would be writing right
now, I would have thought you to be crazy. God's ways are not mine, but
His ways are always best. Joy and I are asking you to help us
finish what God has started here in Denver through your prayers and
support. We have been able to reach so many different kind of folks
since we have moved to Denver. Only God knows how many lives have and
will be reached through your missionaries for a time in Denver Colorado.
God Bless,
Brian and Joy Densmore
