Dear Pastor and Friends in
Christ,
We
covet your prayers on our behalf. J.
Hudson Taylor once told a fellow missionary, Brother, if you would enter that Province, you must go forward on your
knees. In the Books of Philippians (
1:19
); Romans (1:9 cf
15:30
); Ephesians (
1:16
cf
6:10
, 18-19); I Thessalonians (1:2 cf
5:25
) and II Thessalonians (
1:11
cf 3:1) the Apostle Paul was encouraged by the
prayers of his friends.
Because of your prayers and
support we have been able to go
forward in the following areas:
Two families have been attending
who are involved in the Top End Rodeo Circuit.
As a result we have had the opportunity of witnessing too many of the
riders and Cyndi has had the opportunity of singing the Australian National
Anthem three times to crowds of 3,000. Please
pray especially for a young bull rider by the name of Sam.
This past week he was involved in a helicopter crash which killed the
pilot. I had the opportunity of
witnessing to him in the hospital.
I recently had the opportunity of
speaking to the Palmerston City Council and have been invited to join the board
of the Australian Christian Lobby (In the Territory the issues of euthanasia,
abortion and morality are being debated).
On a sad note, Calebs rugby
coach
Troy
, was recently killed in a traffic accident. The
family asked me to take the funeral service where I was able to share the
gospel; there were 400 to 500 people present.
Please pray for his wife, Kristy and their two young children, for his
mother Kaye and for the ongoing contact we have with the many people from the
Rugby Club.
The folks from the nursing home
ministry are becoming much more receptive as we share the gospel with them each
month through the ministries of music and the Word.
They are about to move to a new facility which may triple our attendance.
We are running about thirty people
on Sunday mornings, many of whom are becoming faithful. It is exciting to see
them grow in Christ. One man who has been attending for about a year is now in
the process of being reconciled with his wife. Another
lady, in her late 80s, has trusted Christ as her Saviour. When we first met
her she told us that she did not talk about religion and politics, now all
she wants to talk about is the Lord and the church.
I am visiting the prison on a
regular basis to talk to a young man by the name of Darren, please pray for his
salvation.
On a personal note, pray for us
that we be strengthened by the
Holy Spirit for the work he has called us to.
Sincerely
in Christ
