A couple of my favorite scriptures are Proverbs 3:5-6; "Trust in the
Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and
he shall direct thy paths", and Romans 8:28; "And we know that all
things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called
according to his purpose." These verses have been called upon numerous
times in recent days. Linda has been seeing several doctors for many months now
with few answers. She has been diagnosed with B12 and Iron deficient anemia. The
B12 will be solved by taking shots every month for the rest of her life. She
will have a procedure tomorrow that will hopefully resolve the iron problem We
should k now by the end of June if the iron has normalized. She is getting stronger
and hopefully her medical issues will be in the rear view mirror soon.
Although I was disappointed with having to come home a little early I am glad
the Lord led us to do so. Shortly after our return Linda really went down hill
fast, and my Dad went into the presence of the Lord on May 4th 2009. I will
forever be grateful to the Lord for bringing us home so that we could enjoy the
sweet fellowship and warm hugs that my dad gave out every time we saw him, and
get Linda the medical treatment she needed so badly. The last time we left for
the field was a very difficult departure because my dad hugged all of us and
told us he wanted us to know that he loved us in case he did not see us again.
Evidently the Lord was preparing him and he knew his time was short. Pray for my
mom as we help her get some issues settled during the rest of our furlough time.
Our son Nolan will be retiring from the Army in a couple of days and he and his
bride will be returning to South Texas, settling in the San Antonio area. Ellen
our youngest daughter, will be traveling with the college ensemble and than
doing a summer internship in the Philippines.
Our work in Forfar is under the leadership of a national pastor. Please keep
the folks in Scotland in your prayers as they are having some growing pains in
our absence. Pray that the Lord will give us direction as to where we go next in
our church planting endeavors. It looks like we will be returning to the field
sometime this fall. God bless each one for your generosity to our family.
Yours For Scotland,
Billy C. Carruth
