January 2008The Burdines were approved by the World Baptist Fellowship Mission Committee in 1986. They began deputation going to the field of Sri Lanka. In February of 1989 they first arrived in that country. Many governmental circumstances caused them to change fields. In addition to Sri Lanka they have worked in Singapore, Jamaica and are presently serving in Cambodia.
Dick was saved at the age of nine at University Baptist Church in Middletown, Ohio. He felt a call to missions in 1980. He is a 1986 graduate of Arlington Baptist college.
Tonya was saved in 1974 at a youth camp and surrendered to full time service in 1975. She also attended Arlington Baptist college.
Dick and Tonya were married in Dayton, Ohio November 9, 1979. Their sending church is the Baptist Tabernacle of Carlisle, Ohio.
The Burdines have three sons, Daniel, Joel and Caleb.
