Ernie and Monoka Brown   Missionaries to Ecuador, S. A.
August 2007

Dear Pastor and Church Family,

Praise God for a busy summer and the strength and health to do all that was planned to do!

July 1- 6 Ernie with 2 other professors taught a week of Bible Institute with 9 faithful students.

July 19-21 A ladies' retreat with 32 women present at Camp Chaupisacha. Monoka was challenged and   blessed to be able to teach these women Bible lessons and a craft.

July 26-28 There was a National Independent Baptist Women's retreat with 80 ladies attending.  Monoka was blessed to prepare and direct the music this year.

Aug.2-13 We were privileged to have a work mission team here from Faith Baptist Church Zoar, Ohio. They built a 2nd story to an existing building at camp, a new entrance gate was welded, and painting inside and out was done, as well as an evangelistic time with the children in this area. They not only worked physically but worked spiritually in bringing wonderful messages, singing, teaching the Sunday School classes and a craft. Their love for the Ecuadorian people  was very evident in every aspect of their ministry. Only time and eternity will tell the spiritual fruits of their labors. During the weeks prior to their visit, Ernie spent many days in preparation of materials and many trips to the camp. Thanks for the continued prayers for his health. God truly gave him the strength he needed during these wonderful but demanding days of work and translating.

Aug. 24-25 A youth retreat was held at Camp Chaupisacha with a total of 27 youths and 4 adults along with us. This was their first time at the camp and since they didn't want to miss a minute of  their 2 days, they left their village at 2 AM and called us at 4:30 AM and said we are at the meeting point. What enthusiasm! There was teaching on "The Preparation for Marriage and Choosing your Mate," activities, a craft time, beautiful singing, and thrilling testimonies of how God has been and continues to work in these young lives.

In another city of Ecuador, 7 Ind. Baptist churches joined together for a youth camp.  There were 117 young people attending and 21 saved. God is changing lives in Ecuador!!

Two of our churches in the sector of Cangahua are preparing new believers for a baptismal service. One will be baptizing 20 new believers and the other baptizing 23.

Yours for Souls,

Ernie and Monoka Brown
