Ernie and Monoka Brown
Missionaries to Ecuador, S. A.
July 2008
Dear Pastor and Church,
I would like to start by thanking each one of you that has been
praying for us. So much has been going on in our lives. But our God has
been so good! May I share with you just a couple of things God did for
us.
As most of you know,
I, Ernie, came back from the field with
Atrial Fibrillation and they tried several medicines to put it into
rhythm. May 20th I went to Cleveland Clinic and they performed an
"Ablation surgery" on me which took six hours. They told me
that there was about an 80 % chance of success with this procedure. But
we will need to give it some time to see if it will work. Thank the Lord
that up to this point I have done great. July 18 they will take me off
some of the medicine to see if my heart will stay in rhythm. If this
works, then all looks great. Thanks for your prayers. Also I believe your prayers touched our
lives in a different way. Our daughter fell, head first, down 14 steps
and all the doctors are amazed that she is only in a back brace at this
time. There is a chance she might need surgery but we are praying that
the burst fracture to the spine will heal itself with time and the
brace.
The works in Ecuador are going great. We will have another week of
Bible Institute the second week of Oct. Pray for the students as they
give up a week of work, leave their families so they can study, and
prepare themselves to serve the Lord.
We recently received word that the believers at one of the preaching
points will organize into a church and ordain a young man to be their
pastor. They want to wait until we are there and we are thrilled
to learn of this. We have received reports of people being saved and the
churches are being faithful. We do ask your prayers for your brothers in
Christ as they struggle with prices rising monthly. We know that so many
of them cannot live a normal life because of a lack of funds.
Pastor Adan heard noise in his son's house, which lives next to the
church, and when he entered the house he was greeted by thieves with
knives. They robbed the house and took the computer that Bro. Adan uses
to store all his files. The number of robberies has increased with the
inflation being so high.
We ask for your prayers as we do some furlough work and then return
to the field. You will never know how much you mean to us and the people
of Ecuador. With out your help we could not stay in Ecuador.
Yours for Souls,
Ernie and Monoka Brown
