April 2006

Dear Praying Friends,

God has been so good to us these past several months.  We have seen many wonderful things happen.  May we share some of them with you?

So many times I hear, “ Does God’s plan work?”.  Well we saw His power in action.  A couple of months of ago one of the pastors came in and said, “It’s my fault that God is not blessing.”  I asked why he thought that and he said, “I was studying a book you gave me and it says that if the pastor is not supporting missions, the people won’t.”  That day he preached on missions and the church voted to take on 7 mission projects.  It was a step of faith on his part.  Ten people became upset because they felt you should give to the local church until all the needs were met and thus they left.  We all were sorry to see this happen but felt that God would take care of it.  After a couple of months Monoka got a phone call from the leader of the ones that left and she said, “we are not coming back for the pastor or people, we are coming back because it is the right thing to do.”  We were so trilled to hear this because it is always better to do the right thing.  But to share with you the blessings and power of God, while they were not there, the church did not miss one mission commitment and God sent us 7 new people to worship with us.  Oh yes there is one more thing that took place during this time.  Our regular offerings did not go down!  It is so wonderful to know we serve a Lord that is true to His word.

Since the last prayer letter we have been using the camp more.  We have had a youth group, ladies group, and our Bible Institute use it.  We ask for your prayers because it has been raining almost every day and it gets pretty slick on the mountain roads not to mention the land slides along with trees falling across the road.  A machete in the car seems to be a standard tool lately.

Last but not least we have had reports of 15 people coming to know the Lord in the month of April.  Also we have been able to give out a total of 40 Bibles to some of the local churches since January.  We know you will rejoice with us over this.

Yours for Souls,

Ernie and Monoka Brown
