Your Missionaries to Ecuador

Feb. 2009

Dear Praying Friends,

What a wonderful God we serve! He blesses us in so many ways. We have received several calls from Ecuador and things there are going well. Another week of Bible Institute has ended and several courses are now completed. We have only a few more subjects to cover and then we will be looking at a graduation ceremony. Where have the four years gone? Also we are told all the works are going forward for the cause of Christ. We are always thrilled to hear this.

During the month of January we were traveling and reporting to some of our churches. It has been a thrill to visit those churches and we thank you for allowing us the time to report to you what God is doing in Ecuador. We will not be able to visit and report to each one of our supporting churches this time. But we will begin where we left off, upon the start of our next furlough. We ask those churches that we will not be able to visit this furlough to bear with us. We just could not be with each one of you and also take care of some health issues.

As most of you know, I, Ernie came back with some health issues but thank the Lord it looks like we have them all taken care of for now. I will see my doctor on Feb. 19th and we should fly to Ecuador on Feb. 24th. It will be good to be home once again.

Upon arriving in Ecuador we will have much to do. We have to plan for the next Bible Institute in April, work on obtaining our Visa and Censo (another government document), and get our car tags, car inspection, car insurance, and some repairs. The paper work alone can take days to get done.

It has been a good year and we thank you for your prayers and support. For the churches we have been able to visit this furlough, we thank you so much for your gracious hospitality and accommodations. Without you we could not do the work that God has called us to do. As in many of the countries, it is against the law for us to work for money in Ecuador. This means we depend on God's people to help us stay there.

In His service,

Ernie and Monoka
