ERNIE AND MONOKA BROWN
MISSIONARIES     TO     ECUADOR

January 2006

Dear Praying Partners,

We greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ wishing many blessings from God for your family, church and ministry. We also wish to thank you for the many Christmas Cards, special gifts and offerings as well as words of encouragement during the holiday season. We truly are blessed to have a wonderful Mission Family and caring, generous churches.

CHRISTMAS SUNDAY: Victory Baptist Church in Quito started with an earlier service, followed by special musical presentations both in voice and instruments and a drama of the Christmas story with all the boys, girls and young people of the church. We enjoyed a Christmas dinner together at the church and rejoiced in God's blessings and the fellowship we shared because of Him. But a wonderful gift was that one of the young girls had brought 6 of her friends to the service. This little girl whose name is Sandra Simbaņa seems to have a heart for missions. Please pray that God will keep her heart tender, enlarge her vision for missions, and increase her faith as she grows spiritually.

CANGAHUA BIBLE INSTITUTE: January 8-13th Bible Institute again was held at Camp Chaupisacha with 17 of us in attendance. We are thrilled to see God working in the lives of the students and their desire to learn more of His Word!. One of the professors, who is a pastor, told us that 2 were saved the last Sunday in December at the mission where he preaches. What a good way to start the year!

MISSIONS: January 22nd Pastor Alcivar at Victory Baptist Church preached on Missions as a commandment not an option from God's Word and shared with the people his burden to start monthly support of national missionaries. The church voted and is starting with support for 8 at $10.00 per month. He took up a mission offering that same Sunday and as of last Sunday night they had $95.00 come in. That might not sound like much to you but it is a step of faith to them. He and the people are so excited. There are Christians there of different spiritual ages and so we ask you to pray that God will keep them faithful, focused on God's Word, and not let the Devil discourage them in the many ways he seems to know how!!

ERNIE'S HEALTH: As of this letter Ernie's heart is in rhythm and he has had no further complications.  Thanks so much for your prayers!!

Yours for Souls,

Ernie and Monoka Brown
