The Brown’s in New Zealand

July 2003

Greetings from Down Under,

We are in the middle of winter and it is windy, wet, and cold.  Our city even got some snow and sleet recently, which has not happened for a few years.

We are excited to share with you that our mission work has merged with another work.  The two congregations were about thirty minutes apart.  We are in the process of finding a mutual meeting place somewhere in between the two current locations.  The other work was started by the Brad Hastings family and is now being carried on by Brian and Jodell Powers.  Space in this letter would not permit us to tell how this all came about, but the Lord has worked in a special way.

Due to the lack of national pastors, missionary furloughs have been an ongoing problem in New Zealand .  This is just one of many areas where we can minister more effectively with two missionary families working together.  We know God has some good things in store.  For this reason, we also know Satan will be attacking this forward progress of the Lord’s work.  Pray with us as we step out by faith in this new venture.

Rejoice with us in the salvation of a Maori teenager by the name of Julian Morehu.  He came to Christ last month and we have since baptised him.  Please join us in praying for Julian who is 17 years old and basically on his own.  He lives with his 19 year old brother.

Our oldest son Josh is now in the states where he will attend Arlington Baptist College in the fall.  Needless to say, we miss him terribly.  He was able to find a job and is slowly settling into the American way of life.

May the Lord bless each of you as you continue to take an active part in the Gospel ministry here in New Zealand .

By HIS grace & for HIS glory,

The Browns
