The Browns in New Zealand

March 2009

Hello prayer warriors,

We had a great summer Holiday Programme (VBS).  Our people worked hard during the recent school break to bring kids in to hear the Gospel.  Close to 70 children came sometime during the week.  Adding to the excitement was having close to 30 believers from the work get involved in the planning and running of the programme.

We just concluded a one night retreat with those involved in the ministry of the church.  It was wonderful to listen to our people share ideas for reaching more people for Christ.  The future of this church planting ministry looks strong.

There are so very few strong Baptist works in New Zealand committed to sharing the Gospel.  As many of you know, church planting work in this part of the world is a long process.  Please pray as we lead this church forward to becoming fully indigenous and self-supporting.  With the Lord’s help, we continue heading in that direction.

On a personal note, Janet has been spending time with her parents in Michigan the past four weeks.  Her dad, Jim Lamb, has been diagnosed with lung cancer.  Janet has been helping her sisters to care for him and get him to his many doctor appointments.  It has been a rough time for him.

Many of you have been praying for Jim.  We couldn’t wait to share with you that just the other day, Janet led her dad to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  This is an answer to some 30 years of prayer.  It was worth the wait!

As I close for now, I want to express our appreciation to all of you for your love and support.  We are living in times of unprecedented economic turmoil.  Yet, God continues to use your faithfulness to help us and other missionaries fulfil His calling upon our lives.  There has never been a time in our 18 years in NZ that we have been more thankful and humbled by your steadfast support.  God is still and will forever be on His throne!

By His grace & for HIS glory,

The Browns

Dale, Janet and Micah
