The Brown’s in New Zealand

February 2004

Dear Friends, Family, and Fellow-servants,

The new year got off to a tremendous start with our family camp the first week of January.  God used this time to both encourage and nurture our people.  A young seven-year old girl by the name of Alexandra came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour.

Our teens made sure that we stayed busy after camp.  Our kids are out of school for summer break in January so the month was full of activity.  The highlight was “trying” to teach them how to play softball.  Most kids in New Zealand grow up playing cricket.  It was a challenge teaching them to run the bases in a diamond shape instead of a straight line.  There are about twenty young people in our youth group.  We look forward to reaching many more teens for Christ in this new year.

Many of you have been praying with us about the purchase of some land or a building.  We continue to actively pursue a more permanent meeting place for the work.  In a developed country like New Zealand , having a place of our own will allow us to minister more effectively.    We have been negotiating for several months with the owner of an office building that we could possibly renovate.  Whether it’s this building or another, pray for God’s will to be done.

Lord willing, we will begin our next furlough in February or March of 2005.  We realize that many of our churches need to schedule their missionaries several months in advance.  For this reason, we would like to begin contacting our supporting churches and pastors ASAP.   It would help us tremendously, if you could send us an email address we can use to contact you (church, pastor, or mission director’s email).  Also, we will need to raise some additional support while on furlough.  Pastor, if you anticipate your schedule being full next year and would allow us to report the following furlough, let us know.  This will give us the time needed to be in some new churches.  Our email address is at the bottom of our letter head.

Until next time, we love all of you and appreciate what you are doing to get the Gospel to the people of New Zealand .

By HIS grace & for HIS glory,

The Browns
