About
eight months ago a man began to attend our services, his name is Aaron.
He is from Israel and came to Maui to design and oversee the building of
the Ocean Center Aquarium. He was
invited by one of the ladies of the church.
I began to meet with Aaron and study scripture with him.
We studied the Old Testament Scripture that speaks of the Messiah and
there fulfillments in the New Testament. He
reached a place several months ago where he told me he believed that Christ was
the Messiah. However he did not
accept Him as his Messiah. We
continued to study and he continued to attend services faithfully. This past month he gave testimony that he personally accepted
Jesus Christ as his saviour. He
just returned from a trip to Israel where he shared his faith with some of his
family. We are rejoicing at seeing
the Grace of God manifested in his life.
We
have a weekly home Bible Study that has been well attended.
It is not unusual to have between 20 and 30 attending.
All of those who attend the Bible Study also attend our services
faithfully.
The
regular worship services have been well attended as well.
Our Sunday and Wednesday evening services have been growing.
Last month we had one Sunday Night service with 71 in attendance. Three of those were visitors.
This past Wednesday night service we had 59 in attendance, no visitors
just the folk who attend regularly. Sunday
Morning attendance is between 90 and 120 usually.
Both of the pictures you see were taken within the last month.
We were blessed with Dr.
David Bryant and his wife Vickie visiting the work here.
Dr. Bryant preached for us and his messages were a blessing to the
church. Dr. Bryant is the president
of Arlington Baptist College.
On a personal note, after
9 years of praying for a baby my son Mark and his wife Dawn are expecting in
April 2003. The first two months
have been difficult and she is on complete bed rest until at least the end of
October. Please keep them in your
prayers.
