ARZA and RUTH BROWN MISSIONARIES TO HAWAII Post Office Box 1176, Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii 96767-1176 March 2001 The first three mouths of the year have been exciting ones in our ministry here in Hawaii. There have been only a few Sundays that Grace Baptist attendance has been under 100. It is not unusual to have between 100 and 115. We are thankful for God's blessings and the problems those blessings bring. In April we plan on removing another wall opening up room for around 40 more. This will max our seating without building on or building a new building. Men in the church are checking with the country to get the permit that we need to put a 12X44 modular building on the property to meet our classroom space needs. We have found two available and as soon as we get the permit we will decide which of the two we want and have it set up. The folk would like to build an new building and that would probably be the next logical step. As most of you know it is very expensive here. We need your prayers for God's direction to be made clear. We have a home Bible Study with several Filipino families each week and God has blessed this ministry. One of the men attending has trusted the Lord and has not missed a Sunday Service since. This coming Sunday four will be baptized. The 15-passenger van we use to provide transportation to services is full nearly every Sunday. We have both adults and children coming to church in the van. Folks are praying about getting another van to help meet the request for transportation. Around $1500 has been given toward that goal.
I had the opportunity to minister to a family whose 8-month-old baby died of SIDS. I was called to their home by the police department and drove them to the hospital
(following the Medic unit) and was with them when they were told their baby had died. The Lord
opened a door of ministry for the church. The family did not attend church, the ladies fixed food and I spent time with the family and did the funeral service for them. They have been attending our
services since and we are praying for their salvation. Your Missionaries in Hawaii, Arza & Ruth Brown E-mail: browna008@hawaii.rr.com Home Church: Massillon Baptist Temple, 1219 Overlook Avenue S.
