Dear Praying Friends,
August-October 2004
We are in the States for a short six
month furlough. This furlough will be a short one since we left the church in
Arembepe with three deacons and this is the first time we have been gone without
another missionary present. We covet your prayers for them in our absence.
We have been visiting churches
already on this furlough and thank the Lord for His hand of protection as we
travel. We would like to thank each church that we have visited for their
kindness to us and the good Christian fellowship. We thank the Lord for the
young man in a church in Kansas who surrendered his life to the mission field.
We are aware that we had only a small part in this decision, but thank the Lord
to see people answering God’s call. We wanted to mention to those that we will
not be able to see on this furlough that we have a 9 minute video summarizing
what the Lord has done these last two years in Brazil. If any of you would like
us to send you a copy please contact us by e-mail (brimcoffee@yahoo.com).
We are in constant contact with the
deacons there in Arembepe, Brazil and we praise the Lord that the church is
doing great in our absence. Six adults have accepted Christ as their Saviour
during our time in the States. Elielson, one of the deacons, also informed me
that the church is full every service. I also have talked to Joao Henrique, the
Institute student who is working in the congregation in Jacuipe. He informed me
that a lady accepted the Lord there recently and wants to share her new faith
with her neighbors. We praise the Lord for His goodness in giving fruit and
blessing His work there in Brazil. Please continue to lift the church in
Arembepe and the congregation in Jacuipe up before the Lord’s throne for
protection and blessing. Please praise the Lord with us for the each new convert
and ask God for spiritual growth in each life. We thank God for each of you and
for your part in these lives and our ministry. We love and appreciate each of
you. May God richly bless each of you. We remain…
Yours in the white fields,
The Brim five
