Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
July
23, 2007
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank the Lord
daily for each of you who have an important part in our ministry here in
Northeast Brazil; your financial and prayer support is a great blessing
and encouragement to us.
We have had some visitors recently here in our home. In June we
were privileged to have two missionaries with the Rock of Ages Prison
ministry visit us. The national and international directors were
visiting the prisons in our state capital taking the initial steps to
set up a prison ministry there. I had the privilege to visit the prisons
and do soul winning with them. What a heart breaking experience to see
so many lives broken by the enemy, and yet see the desire for the truth
and love of God. We also have been privileged to have a young lady visit
us for the month of July. Chelsea is seeking the Lord’s will for her
life about the mission field and has been a blessing to us in many ways.
Pray that God will continue to lead and guide her life.
We
would like to ask you to pray for:
1.
Arlisson and
Marinalva. They recently accepted to the Lord on visitation. The
following week
Marinalva’s sister died suddenly
of a disease transmitted by an insect bite. Her elderly mother has
taken this loss hard as has Marinalva. Pray for grace and strength in
this difficult time of their lives.
2. Marcelo
and Taciane. They recently were saved after being involved in the
Jehovah’s Witness. Pray for spiritual discernment to understand the
truth of God’s Word after being involved in a cult. Please also pray
for Cassio and Barbara, Marcelo’s children, who have been involved in
stealing and other problems and also recently were saved. Pray that God
will bring unity and peace to this family.
3.
Adriano. Adriano
attended the church on a regular basis as a child and then as an
adolescent stopped coming altogether. A few weeks ago after trying to
commit suicide he showed up at my gate and accepted
the Lord. Please pray for him to grow and be used of the Lord to reach
others.
4.
Guaraci.
He was approved by a Brazilian Independent Baptist Mission agency
and will begin to raise his support to start churches in the state of
Sergipe, the next state north of us. Rejoice with us at this great
blessing to have the church in Arembepe send out its first missionary.
Pray with us also for Godspeed for him in reaching the field.
5.
Please pray for our
finances. The dollar has lost its value all around the world and all
missionaries are suffering the consequences, some even facing early
furloughs as it is becoming increasingly difficult to remain on the
field with insufficient funds. Pray for us that God will continue to
meet our financial needs.
We praise God for His faithfulness and for His working in lives not only
here in Arembepe but also around the world.
We count it a joy to represent you and long for the day that you
may meet these brothers and sisters in Christ face to face at the feet
of our Savior. We remain….
Yours in the white fields,
The Brims
