May – July 2005 Fellow Labourers,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
We come to you by way of this letter to share with you the good news of some of the exciting ways the Lord has been working here in Arembepe.
In May, I was able to conduct three funerals and a wedding. The hand of the Lord was in it all as none of those people involved were a part of our church. Through
the services I was able to share to gospel with many we’ve never seen before and very well may never see again. We
are praying that where we planted someone will come later and water and
eventually these precious souls might come to Christ.
After our return from the States the church really went through the
fire and there seemed to be no end to the trials.
But God….. isn’t that neat? I
just love it, “But God…” through His infinite mercy He reached down and
resolved the very difficult situations and then opened the doors of heaven and
started pouring out His blessings. Since
the beginning of May, 13 men and women have come to the saving knowledge of Christ. We’ve seen several who
are back-slidden start to attend the services again and we are just praising
the only One who is worthy for these victories.
The new congregation in Jacuipe has also seen several victories.
During one month we were
shut out of the public school where we were meeting due to changes in leadership there at the school, but God worked in that situation also and
we’ve been able to hold services there again and we’ve seen 2 souls come
to Christ in the last month. The
radio program continues to be a blessing, reaching into homes of many that we’ll never get into. Through
visitation and contact in the stores and on the street we’ve come across
several people who said that they listen every week.
Please continue to pray for this ministry and that we’ll see people
saved through it’s outreach.
We’ve concluded yet another semester at the Bible Institute. We again rejoice with those 14 students who faced many trials this semester but remained faithful to their Lord and to the study of His Word. The monthly evangelistic services held by those students in the homes of unbelievers were a blessing and again the Gospel was preached to many who otherwise might never have heard.
We hosted a Sunday School work shop and had 50 Sunday School teachers
and prospects in attendance from our Church, congregation, and three other fundamental, independent Baptist churches.
We were all challenged once again to be about the Master’s business,
winning children to Him through the simplicity of the Gospel, and our vision
was restored for an active, dynamic Sunday School ministry.
We thank God for your continued prayers on our behalf and on behalf of your brothers and sisters in Christ here in Brazil. Your faithful financial support is never taken for granted and we pray that God pours out manifold blessings for your love for souls around the globe.
We remain yours for Christ in Brazil because the harvest is still white!
