Dear Fellow-labourers,                                                                                      May-July 2004
       
           Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We write to you with joyful hearts. These last three months have seen many spiritual births and we would like to share with you about them.
         The first birth occurred on June 6, 2004. I was preaching on missions challenging our people to surrender their lives to full-time service. In the invitation I asked who would be willing to go,  and on the front pew, my youngest daughter Sofia raised her finger. She then turned to my wife and announced that she needed to ask Jesus into her heart. What a joy and privilege we had that night to see Sofia, four years old, ask Jesus into her heart. Rejoice with us for this blessing and answer to prayer.
            The second birth occurred on May 16,2004. On that date the Independent Baptist Church of Barra de Jacuipe was born. We praise the Lord for the beginning of another Fundamental Independent Baptist Church which will preach the gospel and by God's grace see souls saved and His name glorified. We praise the Lord for the seven children which recently accepted Christ as Saviour at four Bible Clubs held in Barra de Jacuipe. Pray with us that they will be the key to reaching their parents. Pray also for Joao, Fabio, Cristiane and Ligia, the four Institute students who are working in this new congregation that God will use them in this new endeavor in a great and mighty way.
           The last spiritual birthdays  were  the salvation of five people in Arembepe. One man,  two women and two teenage girls. Pray for spiritual growth for all of these new converts and the salvation of the two husbands. We thank the Lord for His blessings, grace and mercy in our ministry.
