Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The end of the previous year and the beginning of the new one has brought many blessings from the hand of our God. Here are just a few of them.
The Institute completed another semester with twenty two completing the semester. We also were thrilled to see Fabio graduate. He is engaged to be married this year and feels called to be a church planting missionary. Pray with us that God will lead him to the place and people He has prepared for him.
We praise the Lord for growth that we have seen here in Arembepe. Many souls have been saved and each story is special but I want to share just a few with you.
Iraci accepted Christ six years ago through the witness of her neighbor Helenita. We began to pray for her husband Antonio. Many visits had been made;  many people had talked to Antonio about Christ with no success. Finally on December 30, 2006, Antonio almost died. That night I talked to him one more time and this time he was ready to accept Christ as his Saviour. What tears of joy were shed as Iraci and her children, all saved, saw their family complete in Christ. One week later Vivaldo, Antonio’s best friend came to Christ. Luciana had prayed for Vivaldo for ten years. God is good and answers prayer. Evanildo was a catechism teacher. After a couple’s retreat at a Catholic church he began to read his Bible. He began to see differences in what was being taught and what the Bible said. Guaraci is his neighbor and he knew he was a Christian.  One Thursday he asked Guaraci to come by and visit him, but he forgot. The following Thursday Evanildo made Guaraci promise to come by and he and his wife Luciana were saved. Pray for the spiritual growth of these new converts and for protection from the wiles of the enemy. Please pray also for the eleven who were added to the First Baptist Church of Arembepe by believer’s baptism that they will become active and use their talents to serve the Lord.
I would ask your prayers for the congregation in Jacuipe. It has recently seen growth but has also experienced some serious trials. Please pray for spiritual discernment for each church member and leader there in Jacuipe that God will bring good and blessings out of these trials.
I would also ask you to pray for many ladies, who are new converts. Many of them are having trouble coming to church because of opposition from unsaved husbands. One lady in particular was beaten by her husband for coming to church. Pray that God’s grace will be sufficient and that He will save their husbands’ souls as He did in the lives of Iraci and Luciana.
Please pray also with us as we make a survey trip to the state of Sergipe with Guaraci. Pray that God will guide us and show him if this is the place that God would have him begin his church planting ministry.
On a personal note I would tell you that Campbell, Caitlinn and Sofia are doing great in the home school studies and growing everyday.  Stefan has not only started walking but talking.  He is saying things in both English and Portuguese.  He is surprising and entertaining us by his understanding of the world around him.
We would like to thank each church and individual who gives that we may serve the Lord in northeastern Brazil. We count it a privilege to partner with you in the preaching of the gospel. We covet and appreciate your daily prayers for our family and ministry and know that fruit is being added to your account. We remain……

                                                                                   Yours in the white fields,

Frank, Darla, Campbell, Caitlinn, Sofia and Stefan
