Dear Friends,
          The new year is off to a great start. Good things are happening at the Misión Bautista Monte Sion in Valle Hermoso. The attendance has continued to increase. Even during the month of December, which was exceptionally cold and rainy, we had good attendance. Most of the members have to walk to church on streets that are not paved, so it is difficult to get anywhere when it is raining. But they were determined to come to the church services, even though many of them had to walk through the mud. We thank God for their faithfulness. It is a blessing to work with believers who love the Lord and truly want to serve Him.
          A few weeks ago the mission celebrated their 2nd anniversary. Pastor Juan held a special service to commemorate the occasion, and several pastors and members of other churches attended. It is wonderful to see how God has blessed that work in just two years! Last summer we held our first Vacation Bible School, and it was a great success. Because of the children who attended and were saved in VBS, we now have a regular Sunday School class for the kids, taught by Monnie and Carmen, the pastor's wife. The children are very enthusiastic about learning God's Word. We have a good group attending regularly. They are also bringing their parents to church, and several of those adults have been saved. Pastor Juan and I are teaching the adults and the teenagers. We have a few men who attend, but we would like to see more men come to know the Lord and lead their families in serving Him. It is hard for the men to attend church, because many of them have to work on Sunday. Please pray that God would help us to reach more men in that neighborhood.
          We are very grateful for your prayers. Many times we feel that God is blessing us in a special way because God's people are praying for us. And your financial gifts are vital to our ministry. Your mission offerings make it possible for us to continue in the work that God has called us to do. Just recently three people were saved at the mission. You had a part in that through your prayers and your offerings. Thank you so much for being our partners in the ministry. We love and appreciate you!
