BOB & JOANN ADCOCK December 18, 2004 Our dear friends, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God ...And the Word was made flesh,. and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:1,14 How very privileged we are that God, in His mercy and grace, chose to communicate with a fallen humanity in the person of Christ, the "Word made flesh"! In Him, we not only have redemption but also everything we need "that pertains to life and godliness". Words and their shades of meaning are an important feature of teaching English as a second language. All but one of our students are native Spanish-speakers. At present, we have a core group of about sixteen young men and women, who are really keen to learn. Our lives have been enriched by knowing and working with them. Our hearts' desire is that the Lord would use us to impact their lives spiritually. We're thankful for cheap international call rates that enable us to keep in touch with our family and friends in Ireland and Spain. Our five grandchildren are growing up so quickly. The two older ones, Tara and Aaron, are in secondary school. Like Christian grandparents everywhere, we are concerned about the spiritual well-being of our grandchildren. We're thankful that their parents make the effort to take them to a youth meeting an hour or so away from their home. We thank the Lord for the strength He gives us and that our health concerns are manageable. Last, but not least, we thank the Lord for you, our faithful friends, who have prayed for us and encouraged us down through the years. Thank you for your cards, letters and gifts. May you know the Lord's peace and enabling in the coming new year. Yours in Christ, Bob & Joann Adcock |
